James joined Tayler and Fletcher as head of the Fine Art Department in August 2023, after 16 years as a director at the Channel Islands’ largest auction house, Martel Maides Auctions in Guernsey. He brings nearly 30 years of experience within the international auctioneering and antiques field, having joined Bonhams as a Porter after leaving Oxford University in 1993 and later Sothebys in 1998, heading the Toy Department at both firms.
