Tayler & Fletcher is an independent firm of Chartered Surveyors, Property Consultants and Auctioneers based in the North Cotswolds. We have advised clients on residential, rural and commercial property since 1884. Today, we operate from four offices across Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire and run the North Cotswold Saleroom at Bourton-on-the-Water.
The firm remains independently owned. Our work is regulated by RICS, and we hold the credentials and professional memberships that the standard of advice requires.
Our History
Tayler & Fletcher was founded in 1884. Over the years that followed, the firm built a position as a trusted adviser to landowners, farmers, homeowners and businesses across the Cotswolds.
The fundamentals of how we work have not changed. We give honest advice, take a long view of client relationships, and stay close to the markets we serve. The firm has grown its service range and its office network over time, but ownership has remained independent throughout.
What We Do
Our work spans the full range of property and auction services that a North Cotswolds client is likely to need.
Residential Sales and Lettings: We act for sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants across the region. Our coverage includes Cotswold villages, market towns and the surrounding countryside.
Rural and Agricultural: We advise farmers and landowners on farm sales, land sales, Farm Business Tenancies, Agricultural Holdings Act tenancies, and rural diversification. The firm also handles farm machinery, livestock, and hay and straw sales.
Commercial Property: We act on commercial sales, lettings, investment and development across the Cotswolds and surrounding area. We also advise landlords and tenants on lease matters.
Survey and Valuation: Our RICS Red Book Valuers provide formal valuations for probate, inheritance tax, secured lending, insurance reinstatement, and family or matrimonial division. We also provide pre-purchase surveys.
Property Auctions: We hold property and land auction sales for residential, rural and commercial vendors. Auctions can suit properties where transparent competitive bidding will produce the right result.
Fine Art, Antiques and House Clearance: Our Fine Art Department holds eleven catalogued auction sales each year at the North Cotswold Saleroom in Bourton-on-the-Water, with quarterly sales at the Pittville Pump Room in Cheltenham. We sell more than 10,000 lots a year through monthly auctions and three annual specialist sales in February, June and October. We also carry out house clearances and estate clearances.
We have five offices across the North Cotswolds and surrounding area. Each office handles enquiries from its local catchment and works with colleagues across the firm on specialist matters.
Tayler & Fletcher brings together Chartered Surveyors, valuers, agents, auctioneers and support staff across the four offices. Several of our partners and senior staff hold FRICS, NAEA Fellow and other professional memberships relevant to their work.
